Contracted to Los Angeles Department of Water and Power for work in Owens Valley and Long Valley in the Eastern Sierra of California: worked with local farmers/ranchers on Sprinkler Irrigation Incentive Program to increase water-use efficiency in irrigated pastures; developed budget and schedule, established assessment guidelines, prepared conclusions and recommendations; developed budgets, schedules, and project procedures and supervised work on vegetation and riparian monitoring projects, rare plant surveys, endangered species trend plots, parcel mapping, pasture (shrub and grassland) monitoring and evaluation, pasture inventories and appraisal of farm-ranch leases; site supervisor for Water Use Project involved in budget decisions, planning of field design, planting and maintenance procedures; prepared budget, designed and built greenhouse, procured equipment and supplies for seedling production for same project.

Established beekeeping trainings and associated hive-making workshops in several villages within Makwanpur District, Nepal: procured funding, developed budget, arranged site, enlisted local beekeepers, and support personnel, organized training schedule.  Initiated beekeeping classes for interested Peace Corps Volunteers.  Assisted local community forestry groups with forest inventories.    Organized 2001 P.C. Natural Resources Conference: planned budget, venue, schedule, travel and personnel for income generation of Non-Timber Forest Products topics- mushroom farm, women’s Forestry Lease program, and  medicinal herb farm.  Participated in the 2002 P.C. Planning Conference.
